(3) LAX passenger breakdown is this website's analysis of the raw data collected in a large 2001 LAX passenger study and obtained through a  California Public Records Act request. Final study results have not been released by Los Angeles World Airports.

(5) Based on 2003 Ontario Airport Passenger study, allocating visitors to the counties in the same ratio as residents.

(9) Estimated percent of connecting passengers was 33 % per LAWA in 2002. San Diego is the main "other" county with some passengers from Santa Barbara, Kern, etc.

Origin and Destination passengers, by industry definition, are those whose trip begin or end in a residence, hotel or business within the designated county. Roughly half of the region's O&D passengers are visitors to Southern California. (For example, passenger surveys show 61 percent of passengers are visitors at John Wayne, 40 percent are at Ontario)
