    Air Line Pilots for a Safer El Toro Airport

    THE PILOTS' PLAN

    1.Eliminate Jumbo aircraft from the mix and reduce the 2020 MAP to 17 million; Retain current JWA limit of 8.5 million;

    2.Aggressively work for legislation to retain the night curfew at JWA and extend it to OCX as a two airport system;

    3.Eliminate runways 7 L/R and 25 L/R. Retain and extend runways 16 L/R and 34 L/R as the only two runways;

    4.Establish the preferential runways16L and 16R thereby landing and taking off only into the prevailing winds;

    5.Arrive over open space and depart over open space by turning right 30 degrees over the El Toro Y and following a mandatory course to the coast

    6.Fly over no sensitive areas (homes, schools, churches or hospitals), arriving or departing;

    7.  Utilize runways 34L and 34R during Santa Ana wind conditions by reversing the course over open space;

    8.Avoid conflicting Air Traffic. Establish Air Traffic flows to and from JWA and OCX Airports in the same direction;

    9.Support mandatory arrival and departure routings to avoid corner cutting and flying over sensitive areas;

   10.Participation in the planning process by local Airline Pilots, Airlines, Air Traffic Controllers and the Communities surrounding OCX to create a safer and friendlier airport; and

   11.Create specific operational limits by a ballot measure which can only be changed by a vote of the people.
