(1)  Actual 2003 data published by the airports

(2) 2004 SCAG Regional Transportation Plan airport allocations for 2030 with Maglev.
County by county breakdown for 2030 is provided by SCAG from the  SCAG RTP model

(3) LAX passenger breakdown is per 2001 Air Passenger Survey Final Report, Los Angeles International Airport  - April 2004

(4) 2000 John Wayne Airport passenger study

(5) Based on
2001 Air Passenger Survey Final Report, Ontario Airport - April 2004

(6) Estimate. Assume 94 % is local O&D, similar to SNA

(7) Estimate. Long Beach Airport does not collect data on passengers' origin or destination.

(8) Rough estimate provided by Palm Springs Airport public affairs, 2003

(9)
San Diego is the principal "other" county with some passengers from Santa Barbara, Kern, and "outside Southern California" etc. Source 2001 LAWA Air Passenger Survey Final Reports.

(10) Connecting passengers at LAX were 36 % per LAWA report for 2001. Connecting passengers at ONT were 2 %. Source 2001 LAWA Air Passenger Survey Final Reports.

Origin and Destination passengers, by industry definition, are those whose trip begin or end in a residence, hotel or business within the designated county. Roughly half of the region's O&D passengers are visitors to Southern California. (For example, passenger surveys show 61 percent of passengers are visitors at John Wayne, 40 percent are at Ontario)
