EIR 573 projects two Orange County airports, John Wayne (JWA) and El Toro (OCX)  to serve 34.2 million annual passengers (MAP) in 2020:

Orange County will stop using LAX and will import 6.3 million air travelers to our roads and skies:

Currently, between 4 and 5 MAP of OC residents and visitors use LAX and Ontario. The EIR assumes that this number will drop to 0.7 MAP.

The EIR makes these unlikely assumptions:

• Most North and West county residents will switch to using JWA and El Toro.
• Visitors coming to Disneyland, Universal Studios, Hollywood and Santa Monica will begin and end their trips in Orange County.
• Almost all foreign travel by OC visitors and residents will transfer to JWA and El Toro.
